The bonus is cleared by collecting VPPs, player points awarded for playing raked ring games and participating in paid tournaments. Every 170 points earned instantly releases $10 of the bonus into your cash account.

Players do not have to complete clearing the first deposit bonus in order to take advantage of another. The new bonus will be added to your pending bonus account. Once the first bonus is cleared in full, all points will start going towards the next bonus.

Each bonus has a 6 month (183 day) expiration period. So if you take advantage of all three first deposit bonuses (i.e. Deposit $200 three times within first 90 days), the expiration for each bonus segment will have its own 183 day expiration period, making it much easier to clear all bonuses.

A player may not request a withdrawal at any time before the bonus is cleared. Doing so will result in forfeiture of any pending bonus, and void the ability to earn more of the welcome bonus on subsequent deposits within the first 90 days.

How to Earn PokerStars VPPs

 

VPPs are awarded for raked ring games and paid tournaments. Every $1 paid in tournament fees (just the fees, not the buy-ins) is worth 5 VPPs. A $50+$5 tournament would award 25 VPPs. Partial points are also awarded for uneven dollar amounts.

Earning VPPs in ring games is slower, and can be more difficult for micro-stakes players. The following chart shows how most VPPs are awarded at PokerStars. Note that some cash games may vary depending on the number of players, type of game and stakes involved.

The first VPP is received when playing a hand where the rake reaches:

 

• $0.40 in FL games with $1/$2 stakes and below
• $0.40 in NL/PL games with $1/$2 blinds and below
• $1 for all other game types

The second VPP is received when playing a hand where the rake reaches:
