7 Game Mix Strategy

Before you jump into playing the fun and exciting 7 Game Mix Poker that is available exclusively at PokerStars, there are a few things you need to do first. The first thing you need to do is find out what games are included in the 7 Game Mix and how they are played. Too many players jump into the game only knowing how to play a couple of the games that are played and lose chips in the ones they are unfamiliar with.

The seven different games that you will find are included when playing the 7 Game Mix are; Fixed Limit Texas Holdem, Fixed Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, Fixed Limit 7 Card Stud High, Fixed Limit 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo, No Limit Texas Holdem and Pot Limit Omaha High. You will notice that the first 5 games that are played are the same that are played when playing HORSE Poker mix, however, the last 2 add in a bit of a chance to spice things up with a no limit and then a pot limit round. Because Full Tilt's 7 Game Mix starts with the same 5 game as HORSE Poker, followed by a Holdem and then Omaha round, it is often referred to as HORSEHA Poker.

Now that you know what games are played and you will be learning how to play each of the different games and betting structures, there are just a couple more things you need to know before you sit down at the table. 7 Game Mix is only available in ring game style tables where you can sit down at any point with the minimum buy in and play.

Then, whenever you are ready to go, you can pick up however many chips you have on the table and cash them out. Whenever you are going to play a ring game, you want to take a few moments to look over the table and the players at the table. To sit down at a ring game style table, the minimum buy in is usually 10 times the big blind. However, buying in for the minimum is not the best choice as it gives off the impression that you are a new player that doesn't know what you are doing.

Knowing how much to buy in for is a very important step in playing successful Poker, this is why you must always first asses the table and see what kind of stacks the other players are working with. Generally you will find players that have about 3-5 times the minimum buy in amount of chips in front of them, of course there are also usually a player or two that has way more or less chips than other players at the table.

When deciding how much you want to buy in for, you want to go for somewhere around average of other players at the table. Buying in for too many, or too little chips lets players have a little insight to what kind of player you are. Of course, if you are a looser player, you want to compensate for that and prepare from the time you sit down at the table and buy in.

If you are sitting down at a $3/$6 table, the minimum buy in will almost always be $30 and you will see that most of the other players have around $100-$150 sitting in front of them. Seeing this, you will want to buy in for around $125, giving you enough to play with without being forced all in, yet not so much that other players eyes bulge. From the time you sit down at a Poker table, whether online or off, the other players at the table start to asses you and your Poker game, so from the time you sit down at the table, be sure of what kind of player you want to project yourself as to them.

Since we have covered the games, the limits and the buy ins, it is finally time to sit down and play some Poker. Now, as mentioned before, you should be sure you are familiar with all of the different games and betting structures that are played before you play. Some people think that they can just play the games they know and sit out on the ones they don't, and you can do this, but in the end you will end up losing more than winning.

On top of that, it is not uncommon for players that are not familiar with all of the games to fully intend on sitting out for the games they don't know, but when they see what would be a good hand in the game they know, they end up playing and often end up losing chips in a hand that could have easily been avoided if they were aware of the rules of the game.
